The second 2010 calendar is simply called “Green“. It’s a selection of my images from nature including landscapes, seascapes and foliage shots where the colour green is a predominant influence. You can view each page of the “Green” 2010 calendar in greater detail or purchase a copy of the calendar here.

The third 2010 calendar is titled “Water in Motion” and features images from my collection where the movement of water plays an important role in the composition and feel of each piece. A detailed view of each page of the calendar is available here.

Morning in the Forest of Ferns

Early morning in the forest of ferns.
As the sun rises higher in the sky, beams of sunlight break through the forest canopy spotlighting details in the foliage.

The Hope of the Green.

Surviving the devastating fires of last summer, fresh new growth springs from the charred base of a tree fern.
In the background, the blackened trunks of trees appear as dark vertical bands, many of them sprouting new lush green clusters of foliage.

Serenity Hill – Toora

An image taken late afternoon at Toora wind farm, in Victoria, Australia.
I decided not to include the usual “towers and propellers” that normally grace images from this area.
I was particularly impressed by the serene silhouette image of the cow on the hill.

Voice of the Ondine – Bonnie Doon

Yet another image from the lovely Bonnie Doon area in Victoria, Australia, this time showing some actual water covering some of the lake bed.

A trip to the lake area of Bonnie Doon

Somewhat ravaged by the ongoing drought, the lake has receded but Bonnie Doon still has some wonderful rolling green hills at this time of year.

Challicum Hills Windfarm, Ballyrogan.

Early morning images from Challicum Hills wind farm near Ballyrogan.
It’s hard to visualize exactly how large these mills are until you get close to them.

A morning at The Pinnacles, Phillip Island.

After a long pre-dawn walk along tracks through the tops of the coastal cliffs I arrived at The Pinnacles in time to see the sunrise. Access to the Pinnacles beach area here is via a steep (slippery when wet) track running down the face of the cliff area.

Unfortunately it turned out to be a dud sunrise so there wasn’t much colour in the sky but after getting down to the beach the view of the rock formations was wonderful. An interesting feature of this beach is the large round rocks covering the ground, great for photos but a challenge to navigate at times.

“Changes” – an autumn fog landscape

“Changes” was taken on a foggy autumn morning on farmland in Cranbourne, Australia.
The lush green grass is such a contrast to the dry barren earth found on this spot during summer.

Dance of the Silken White

This image was taken from the banks of the Toorongo river, near Noojee, Australia.
It’s a wonderful lush place to visit, it’s only real downside being the local leeches.

Flying Solo – exposure after sunset

This image was taken at Sorrento beach shortly after the sun had dropped below the horizon.
The long exposure (30 seconds) smooths out the motion of the waves and gives the ocean a smooth, almost cloud like appearance. The pink hue is a remnant of the sunset.

This image is available to purchase as a high quality print here.

Glide – the salt spray effect

This sunset image taken at Blairgowrie beach, Australia, turned out to be much softer than I expected but I like the final result. The softness of the image is due to a build up of ocean salt spray on the lens filter.

Sirens – magic of sea and sunset

A sunset taken at Blairgowrie beach, Australia.
I never get sick of visiting this ocean coastline along the Mornington Peninsula. The rocky landscape remains as a constant, however the continually changing sky and tide never fail to create a new captivating scene.
Generally the best time to visit this area are when the sunset corresponds with a low tide.
